Day Eight (of 31 Daily Reminders)
Who God Is…
God is Omnipresent! (present everywhere)
[The God who is omnipresent gave up the fullness and glory of heaven to be confined within a mother’s womb in order to save you and me!]
Who I am/we are in Christ…
I am a never alone!
God has said, “never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. So we can say with confidence, “the Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Heb 13:5
Be satisfied and content with what you have, for God Himself has said, ‘Never will I fail you or abandon you’, so we can be bold to say, ‘The Lord is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’
[Our confidence is in God and His promises. Because of Him, we can face our fears; we can boldly step out in faith…I, {state your name}, can trust that God always has my back and will never abandon me.]
His promises for me/us today…
“His name will be called Immanuel which means “God with us”.
Mt 1:23
He will be given the name Immanuel which means ‘God is with us’.
[God is with us, He is on our side! He is God in the flesh, come to save us…God is always with me, {state your name}.]
“The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”
Zeph 3:17
The Lord your God is with you. He is a hero who saves you. He happily rejoices over you, renews you with His love, and celebrates over you with shouts of joy.
[It brought joy to God to save us. He invites us to share in His joy…God celebrates my salvation. I, {state your name}, bring Him joy.]
“And surely I will be with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Mt 28:20
And be sure of this: I am always with you until the end of time!
[As we join Jesus in His mission, the Spirit is always with us to empower and sustain us…He promises to be with me, {state your name}, on the mission He has given to me.]
His callings/my vocations…
As you reflect on these words from the Lord, what do you sense God calling you to be or to do? How do these words and promises from the Lord speak to you today with the particular joys and struggles that are part of your life and life of faith?
Think of the people who are closest to you in the vocations He has given you? [husband/wife; family; friends; neighbors; others]. What are some of the “take aways” from these verses that you could share with them to encourage or support them in the challenges they face as they live in this broken world?
Now take a moment to pray, using the words of some of these Scriptures to shape your prayer, as you pray them back to Him. Pray them specifically for those things that you or those you love are dealing with today!
This is from the devotional tool, “31 Daily Reminders”, that I have designed to help you begin each day aware of Who God Is, of Who We Are In Christ, of His Promises That Sustain and Empower Us, and of the Various Callings/ Vocations He Has Given Us. If you would like a hard copy of these devotions, just let me know!
