Hope for Today – Day Four
Day Four – Romans 8: 22-25
Start your day by making the sign of the cross as you say: “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
[You have hope because you are a child of God]
HOPE for Today
Rom 8:22-25
“We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope in what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.”
This is the tension of Advent – now, yet not yet! Victory is ours! But that victory is not yet evident to us in the midst of all the groaning in this fallen, fractured, and fragile world in which we find ourselves. Because of Jesus, we can have confidence and can live with confident hope! We have a message of hope to share with those who find themselves feeling helpless and hopeless.
What opportunities will the Lord give you today to share His hope with others?
Now with your mind refreshed and renewed and with a song in your heart, go forth to serve the Lord with gladness in the vocations He has given you. Go in peace. Go with hope. The Lord is with you!
